Sketchy Guys: How two Bangor natives are putting their comedic stamp on the internet
Groucho Marx once wisely observed that "humor is reason gone mad". For Nick Carlisle and Tim Johnston, truer words were never spoken. In 1999, these two friends, who grew up together on the west side of Bangor, formed a sketch comedy troupe called T-Bob Tubb and began doing a series of comedic audio clips for their radio program "The Soil and Green Show". The success of their audio skits led the two friends to realize that their work had the power to "set one's bone to funny mode." The duo has since expanded to include a host of cast members who have appeared with them in their audio and video skits as well their live stage performances. The group even has an off-shoot group formed in Bloomington, Indiana which Tim formed while attending school there. Their collection of work can be found at www.tbob.net. We recommend checking out our personal favorite video skit: "Phone Physical."
The group will also be presenting a variety of new short videos which will play as interstitials between screenings at the 2008 Bangor Film Festival in August.
